Wayne, founder of jobespy

A founder story

I have hired hundreds of people. It made me want to fix this.

For years I built and ran big, diverse teams. That means I have hired a lot of people, and sat through a lot of processes from the side most candidates never see. I always cared that the people coming through it had a decent experience, because I could see how hard it was for them, and how rarely the system did them any favours.

I have also looked for roles myself. Both sides taught me the same thing, just from different ends. The traditional routes, the boards, the portals, the apply and hope, are quietly soul-destroying. And the part that actually works almost never shows up in any of them: knowing the right person.

From the hiring chair I used to think it constantly. If only this person could get fifteen minutes with me, the rest would sort itself out. But that fifteen minutes is the hardest thing in the whole search to get. Not the interview: the conversation before it, the introduction, the person who remembers you when the role appears. Once you are in the room the process is mostly fair. Getting to the room, and keeping the rest of the search moving while you do, is where it falls apart.

There are plenty of job boards. Plenty of AI tools that will polish a CV. What there was not, anywhere, was a tool that simply helped me run the process in a calm, structured way. I tried spreadsheets. I emailed myself. I rigged up a bit of automation. None of it held the thing together.

That gap is where jobespy was born.

If only they could get fifteen minutes with me, the rest would work. Getting those fifteen minutes is the hardest part of all.

A small museum of the genre.

Thank you for your application

While your qualifications are strong, we are looking for a candidate with more direct experience in the specific industry vertical.

Same industry. Same vertical. Same role I had been doing for six years.

Your application to [redacted]

Thank you for taking the time to apply. We have received an exceptional number of applications and are not able to take all of them forward.

Last one. After this I stopped opening them.

What I wanted, and could not find, was a partner. Not a tool that did things for me. A partner that held the structure of a real search with me. That knew which week we were in. That noticed what was working and told me. That kept the tracking and the rhythm going on the days I did not want to.

So I built it.

I love what technology can do. I love it most when it takes the boring, repetitive admin off my plate and hands me back the time for the part that actually matters: the people. jobespy is built on that line exactly. It holds the system so you can work the system, instead of the system slowly working you down.

It has a simple shape. You start with a plan. You build the relationships that turn into real opportunities. You tailor every application so it beats the gatekeeper. And we hold the admin and the rhythm, so your energy goes where it counts: the conversations, the introductions, the judgement.

Espy is the partner who holds that rhythm across the months a real search takes, and who is quietly very good at taking the fight to the ATS on your behalf.

It will not write your CV from scratch. It will not message people for you. It will not promise you a job in thirty days. What it will do is hold a way of working that respects how hard a real search is, and keep you in the rhythm long enough for it to compound.

Let the tech take the admin. Keep the people for yourself.

jobespy is part of the Beoned family. Beoned is a small UK company building tools that respect the people using them. We are not trying to be everything. We are trying to do a few things really well. jobespy is the first product we are putting into the world under that promise.

If any of this is familiar.

jobespy is here. It is not magic. It is structure, honesty, and a partner that holds the rhythm so you can stay in the search long enough for it to compound. Free to start, to see if it fits.
