Honest answers about jobespy: what it is, how it works, and what it will not do.
About jobespy
What is jobespy?
A structured way to run a real job search: set a plan, build real relationships, tailor every application to beat the gatekeeper, and hold the rhythm over the months it takes. Espy is the partner who keeps the rhythm across the weeks a real search takes.
Who is jobespy for?
People running a real job search who want to do it properly. Particularly suited to five situations: early in your career, weighing your next move, recently redundant, returning to work, or changing careers. If none of those is exactly you, you may still be in the right place.
How is jobespy different from a job board?
Job boards list roles. jobespy is the system that holds your campaign for finding the right role. We do not list jobs. We are not a marketplace. We help you do the structured work that turns listings on other sites into actual offers.
How is jobespy different from LinkedIn Premium?
LinkedIn Premium is a feature pack on top of LinkedIn. jobespy is a separate, focused tool for the campaign itself: opportunities, people, conversations, materials, rhythm. LinkedIn is one channel where you reach out. jobespy holds the structure around all of it.
How is jobespy different from a career coach?
A career coach is a human who gives advice in periodic sessions. jobespy is a system you work with daily. They are not substitutes. Some people use both: the coach for advice, jobespy for execution.
Is jobespy an AI tool?
jobespy uses AI in two places. First, to make CV and cover letter personalisation viable at scale (you review and approve every change). Second, in Espy, who observes patterns across your opportunities and notices what is moving. The AI does not apply for you, write from scratch for you, or contact people for you. The work, the writing, the conversations, and the decisions are yours.
How it works
What happens when I join?
You go through a short walkthrough that asks about your goals (what role, why now, what constraints) and helps you set up your first one or two opportunities. From day one, you can start personalising CVs and cover letters, mapping people to opportunities, logging conversations. The weekly rhythm with Espy kicks in from week one.
What is the weekly rhythm?
Three short moments. Monday: Espy briefs you on the opportunities worth working this week. Wednesday: Espy shares Worth Knowing observations about patterns in your replies and conversations. Friday: you and Espy reflect on what moved and what to carry forward. Each takes 5 to 15 minutes.
How does the CV personalisation actually work?
You upload your master CV. When you find a role you want to apply to, you create an opportunity. The AI reads the JD and proposes changes to your CV: which sections to surface, which keywords to add, which phrasing to adjust. You review every change. The personalised version is stored against that opportunity, ready to send.
What is an opportunity in jobespy?
The way we built jobespy. An opportunity is the cluster of people, organisations, roles, conversations, and materials that, worked together over time, eventually produces an offer. You can think of it as a workspace for one pursuit, with everything connected.
Does jobespy apply for jobs on my behalf?
No. We do not. The application is one of the moments only you can do well. We do not automate it.
Does jobespy work outside the UK?
Yes. At launch jobespy is built for English-speaking markets including UK, US, Canada, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, UAE, South Africa, plus Germany and the Netherlands. Pricing is geolocated. Other markets are charged in USD. Localised language versions are on the roadmap.
ATS and personalisation
Will jobespy get my CV past ATS?
Yes, significantly more often than a generic CV will. Personalisation is what gets you past ATS, and our job is to make that personalisation viable for every application you send. Your CVs will be properly read by the algorithms, and a human will see them more often than they would today. We will not promise a specific outcome because ATS configurations vary by company and human reviewers still pass on candidates for many reasons. But the structural problem of generic CVs being filtered before anyone reads them is exactly what we are built to solve.
Is jobespy trying to trick the algorithm?
No. We are trying to help you be properly seen by it. Personalisation means making sure the CV you send accurately reflects the parts of your experience most relevant to the role, in the structure the algorithm expects. That is honest representation, not deception. We do not invent experience you do not have.
How is this different from AI CV writers?
AI CV writers generate a CV from scratch using prompts. The result reads as AI-written and often contains hallucinations or generic phrasing. jobespy starts from your real CV, and the AI suggests targeted adjustments based on a specific JD. You review every change. The output is your CV, refined, not a CV invented for you.
What if I do not want AI involved in my CV at all?
You can do the personalisation manually inside jobespy. The structure, the storage, the version history, and the opportunity workspace all still work. The AI assistance is a tool, not a requirement.
Will my data be used to train AI models?
No. Your CV, cover letters, conversations, and opportunity data are not used to train any AI model, ours or anyone else's. Full details in our privacy policy.
Pricing and commitment
How much does jobespy cost?
Fixed monthly pricing, shown in full on the pricing page. Seven days no obligation when you sign up, then your card is charged monthly. Cancel any time. No annual contracts. No upsells.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Seven days, no obligation. You set up your account with card details so we know you are serious about trying jobespy properly. Cancel any time in the first 7 days and you are not charged.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. From your account settings. Your membership runs to the end of the month you cancelled in. No forms.
Why do I need to add card details for the trial?
Because we want people who are serious about trying jobespy, not people who are fishing. Adding card details signals intent on both sides: you intend to actually use the trial, and we intend to deliver something worth keeping. You are not charged during the 7 days. Cancel before the trial ends and nothing leaves your account.
Do you offer refunds?
No. The seven-day no-obligation period exists so you can see whether jobespy is for you before any money moves. If you cancel after the trial, your membership runs to the end of the current month and is not refunded.
Is there a cheaper tier?
No. There is one membership. It includes all of jobespy. No tier below this. No tier above it. No upgrades, add-ons, or premium features.
